Welcome!

I've written for The New York Times,The Washington Post, Oprah Daily, Newsweek, The Today Show, Shondaland, The Huffington Post, and more.

Hi there! I write to connect with others and feel less alone. Nothing makes me feel better than a reader who says, “Me too!”

I have an MFA in Creative Nonfiction and a B.S. in English/journalism from the University of New Hampshire.

Don’t be fooled by my New Hampshire education, I’m a born and raised Bostonian who loves the Red Sox, even though I never watch them play.

I write about parenting, mental health, loss, grief, divorce, reluctant endings and promising new beginnings. My brother tells me to write funnier and less depressing pieces. He’s right. Levity is a superpower I’m working on.

Now a true empty nester, I live on the elbow of Cape Cod with my two-year-old Goldendoodle, Kylo. During the summer and winter breaks, my two college daughters come home and update me on TikTok trends. I love when they’re home. I love when they go back to school.

To keep myself sane, I jump in the Atlantic Ocean daily. Yes, even in the winter when the water drops to 34 degrees. I love hawks screeching overhead and the smell of low tide. Target whipped cream and Honeycombs (mixed together, of course) is my current obsession.
